have that life. Whenever you wish to better yourself change is mandatory. With God, however, change is actually possible. The change we need comes from within. When we open our hearts to Christ
and give Him permission to work, He will do wonderful things for us!The problem is when we don't give Him permission.Isn't it amazing that the God who created the Universe waits for us.He waits for our "Yes". I know I made Him wait a long time before I really meant it.But He doesn't force His Love on us, we must freely choose it.This is His very nature - Freedom. We are free to choose Him or reject Him. It truly is up to us.
Lent is an awesome time to reflect on our lives. It's a time of self-sacrifice, a time of personal and spiritual growth. It's a time to ask questions you may not have asked before such as what is the
meaning of my life?Do I feel I have a purpose? Is God real? What is God's Love all about? Will He really
forgive me? These are great questions and according to scripture we have a God who desires to answer them, who loves to reveal Himself to us.
Bottom line, Lent is a time to change. It's a time to be Open , to be Willing, to let God in, to be set free. It's
a time for a new way.A time to deepen, or to discover, a personal relationship with our God.This
is a daily challenge for me.But I believe that in the person of Jesus Christ, God is revealed.
In and through the Holy Spirit Jesus' Love remains alive even today. This might sound silly at first, to
have a relationship with someone you can't see, someone maybe you're not even sure exists. But as you begin the journey in a serious way, Jesus will reveal Himself to you in your heart and
you will know. This is where our "yes" comes in.When we say"Yes God, I'd like to know more about you" we open a door that I promise, you will never want to shut.
There is a famous painting which shows Jesus standing at the door of your heart, He's tenderly knocking on the door, it's so beautiful. But there's one thing missing in the picture - a doorknob. He can't get in. The artist intended this to remind us that we are the ones who must let Christ in.He won't knock the door down and break His way into our heart. The doorknob is on our side of the door. The door only opens from the inside out and we must turn the knob and invite Him in, and He promised in the gospel that He will always come.
So it's time to open the door of our hearts to Christ, to Trust His Mercy, to seek His grace in our lives in a New and more intimate way.God has wonderful things in store for us.Be willing to let go of your old way of thinking, your old way of seeing the world, your old way of seeing yourself and let God show you something NEW. God Loves you and the greatest change of all that He wants is to make you realize that.
(A simple prayer... Lord Jesus, I desire to know you, to have a real relationship with you in my heart.I want you to transform my life, to make me brand new, and give me a fresh start. Please shine your Light into my life and dispel the darkness of my past.I'm sorry for all of my sins and I ask for your forgiveness and mercy.I believe you love me but I want to enter into a time in my life where I come to know your Love in a more real and meaningful way ... and spread this Love to others.Amen.)
