what is broken, but we need to be open to His grace and healing Love. God understands our pain. He's not indifferent to it. He knows it's difficult to let go, and by now, we know it too. We know what we have to do, but we're stuck. We need to surrender and forgive, but it's hard. We know we have to move forward - but we don't want to.
The heart and soul of New Way Today was built upon the scripture found in Isaiah 43:18-19, "Remember not the events of the past ... I am doing something New!" Through this scripture we come to the understanding that God truly doesn't want to remember our past anymore and He doesn't want us to either. This doesn't mean that what has happened in our past has not been very serious or very painful. It does mean that we have a God who wants to free us from this pain. We have a God who cares about us, who was with us then, and is with us still.
When we come to know God as our loving Father, we, above all, find a safe place. A place where we are protected, where we can rest from our feelings. He is our "hiding place." (Psalm 32:7) It's a place where
healing is possible because we don't have to pretend anymore. God will love and accept us as we are.
In the unthreatened setting of God's Love, we are free to be ourselves, our real selves, who desire to be loved and cared for in the deepest way possible. When we reach this place we are able to let our guard down and let Love in. That's when change happens. The Love of God is the change that we need."
