"Dear Lord, you have told us to forgive one another. This is your commandment - to love one another as you have loved us. But you know how hard it is for me to be the one to forgive in this situation. It's not easy to let down my pride, but this is what you want me to do, and my soul knows it. Please Lord, give me the grace I need to forgive.
Lord, nothing is beyond your power and I need your power to do this. On my own I will stay angry forever but with you I can forgive anyone and everyone, including myself, and have a new life. I can be set free from this pain that controls me and this hurt that keeps me stuck in the past. Please help me to be willing to do what I have been so unwilling to do for so long.
